The sun was shining over the Brecon Beacons as we approached Peterstone Court Hotel to meet excited Bride Joanne. Preparations were already underway, in the safe hands of hair and make up artist Charmaine Gorwill.
Jo was in good company with her two bridesmaids, sister Jenny and best friend Rachel, they were on hand to deal with any Bridezilla moments, but Jo remained cool, calm and collected all morning.
It was lovely to see different members of the family pop into the room to wish Jo good luck before the ceremony, and we were delighted when beautiful little Mabel joined in the preparations. After she had eaten the last of her chocolate treats she was excited to put her pretty flowergirl dress on ready for Mummy & Daddy’s wedding. We just loved the way Mabel looked at herself proudly in the mirror, bless her.
The time came for Jo to rock the dress she had been waiting to wear for months, and her face couldn’t hide her nervous excitement as she walked down the long winding staircase of Peterstone Court to meet her Father, it was such a beautiful moment.
Jo and her Dad travelled the short distance to Llanhamlach Church, where Chris waited nervously for his Bride.
The service was very emotional, the female church choir moved everyone with their song, and there was barely a dry eye in sight.
Finally the moment they had waited for “I may now pronounce you Husband and Wife”, cheers filled the church.
Jo and Chris walked out of the church together with their gorgeous little Mabel; they were complete. They took the short walk up the long drive leading to Peterstone Court, surrounded by country fields, with their bridal party, family and friends following behind them.
Chris, Jo, their families and guests enjoyed drinks, canapés and live music by Smith and Sons on the terrace of Peterstone Court, the atmosphere was amazing and Chris and Jo’s smiling face’s said it all.
The afternoon’s celebrations led inside where the reception room had been transformed into the perfect wedding setting. Beautiful flowers of pastel and peach colours filled the room. Guests enjoyed a delicious wedding breakfast followed by speeches. Jo became the first of our Bride’s to give her own speech, and it was a cracker, the room roared with laughter as she told the story about how she carefully vetted her husband-to-be before their first date! One of the most touching of speeches came from Chris and Jo’s nephew Ieuan, at just 14 years old he bravely stood in front of a room packed full of guests and spoke about how proud he was of his auntie and uncle, he couldn’t control his emotion, and we witnessed a beautiful show of affection from such a lovely young man.
After the speeches guests returned to the terrace to enjoy the evening sunshine. The hen do girls sneaked off to the gardens, kicked of their heels and began to practice a dance routine they had learnt on the hen do, whilst the boys bantered over their pints!
Chris and Jo were keen to use the last of the evening light for a few more couple shots, before their evening guests arrived to start the party.
The evening party kicked off with Chris & Jo’s first dance to a gorgeous song by Tom Baxter.
Smith and Sons returned to play for the evening, the dance floor was full – exactly what we like to see! Whilst Smith & Sons took a short break Jo & the hen-do girls entertained guests with their ‘Dirty Dancing’ dance routine – it was awesome!!
Just before we said goodbye to Chris and Jo we couldn’t help but take a few more shots of this perfect couple to end a truly amazing day! Chris and Jo, thank you for choosing us to be part of your day, you have become more than a bride and groom to us, we now call you our friends :-)
