The wedding of Kim & Joni was held at St Lleians, Gorlas followed by a reception at Slebech Park. This was my first time shooting at Slebech Park and what a beautiful place it is, tucked away in the beautiful surroundings of Pembrokeshire National Park.
We started the morning with Kim, the bride, where make up artist Emily Porter worked her magic, Kim’s home was filled with the cosy warmth of winter and a feel of Christmas in the air, whilst the wind & rain howled outside. We were treated well by Kim, her bridesmaids and not forgetting her daughter with lots of coffee and crispy bacon sandwiches on offer. After spending some time with Kim we headed over to Groom Joni’s parent’s home.
This time we were greeted with some of Joni’s Dad’s secret punch to warm us up and a table filled with enough food to sink a ship, all lovingly prepared by Joni’s Mum (we were warned prior to the day that she loves putting on a spread!). Both Mum’s of the Bride & Groom were enjoying being made over by the fabulous Make-Up By Nicola. The lads finalised their preparations and we headed back to Kim to get those final getting ready images.
Onto the church… as we left Kim’s house it felt like the weather couldn’t possibly get any worse, with driving rain and wind still howling even the umbrella couldn’t help us. With a twist on tradition Joni waited for his Bride at the Church doors and they took the journey down the aisle to alter together, hand in hand. After a fantastic service the newlyweds exited the Church to the biggest turn around in weather that we had witnessed all year… unbelievably the sun was shining, for a perfect winter’s wedding. Kim & Joni took their first journey together as hubby & wifey in an awesome vintage VW camper provided by Retro Retreats.
Slebech Park awaited the arrival of the newlyweds, it was a few days before Christmas so to keep in the Christmas spirit Kim & Joni served their guests mini mince pies and mulled wine!
The day went without a hitch and as the evening drew in Kim & Joni danced the night away to band ‘The Story Goes“
