Oldwalls Gower Wedding – Ashleigh & Liam’s Story
We met in primary school, Liam was a school year older than me, I was 14 and Liam was 16 when we got together. Liam proposed in New York on New Year’s Eve 2015. As soon as we returned home I set about looking for a our perfect wedding venue and fell in love with Oldwalls, Gower.
I provisionally booked a date for the wedding without Liam and then had to pretend we were choosing a venue together when we went to visit Oldwalls together haha – luckily, he loved it too! After ‘helping’ choose the venue Liam basically let me do whatever I wanted but we both agreed our main priority was for all our guests to have a really good day, so we wanted plenty of entertainment and alcohol. We booked a singer to entertain guests as they arrived at Oldwalls, a magician for the early part of the evening when Oldwalls change over of the room and a band for the night to make sure the atmosphere never fell flat. A stand out moment for me was having my dad and step dad walk me down the aisle. My dad had asked my step dad to join us for the walk without me knowing so it was a complete surprise when I got to the church. I also loved the speeches, they were heartfelt and funny and not even I escaped having the piss taken out of me and even my heart of stone shed a tear haha. I’m grateful that we all stood and raised a shot to our friend Mitch who we miss everyday. I enjoyed every part of planning our wedding and wouldn’t change a thing (except maybe getting so drunk).
We are so pleased with our photos, they are natural and show just how happy we were and how much fun we had, thank you Richard xXx
