Corrina + Chris | 6th August 2016
When Corrina contacted us on the 22nd July 2016 to ask if we were available on 6th August we naturally thought she meant 2017! It transpired that poor Corrina and Chris had been let down by a photographer that they had already booked for their wedding and were now in a situation where by it was their wedding in TWO weeks time at what is every wedding photographer busiest time of year, but they struck lucky as we were in fact free on that Saturday!
When we spoke on the phone we hit it off immediately, and we loved the sound of Corrina and Chris’s relaxed boho wedding, we were soon all very excited for the impending wedding day, thank goodness we didn’t have long to wait.
Beautiful St Alban’s in the summer sunshine…
We met at Corrina and Chris’s home, a beautifully quaint cottage. After a relaxing morning sitting, chatting in the sunshine Corrina prepared herself for the big day in front of her Grandmas antique mirror, with her wonderful bridesmaids offering their help at every opportunity, and importantly keeping the champers glass topped up.
When the time was ready Corrina stepped into her perfect Kula Tsurdiu gown, and placed her beautiful handmade flower headband on her head, she was every bit the incredible vision of beauty that Chris was eagerly awaiting to marry.
Corrina and Chris wed at St Michaels Church, St Alban. It was a beautiful service and the happy couple all but skipped out into the church gardens to await their congratulating family and friends.
From the church we took some time out from guests to visit a favourite walking spot for Corrina and Chris, where we took some fantastic woodland photos of the couple.
It wasn’t long until we were back with the party at Kingsbury Barn. A beautifully restored barn, transformed into a woodland wedding dream inspired by one of Corrina’s favourite childhood books by author Enid Blyton, The Magic Faraway Tree. A lot of their own hard work had gone into creating this wedding reception as Corrina and Chris designed and made almost everything themselves, from the center pieces to the wooden bar and cake station, every little detail was designed and put together from a vision they had created together.
It was beautiful moment to watch them brimming with pride as they opened the big barn doors to reveal all their hard work and welcome their guests to celebrate this amazing day with them.
Guests feasted on a delicious hog roast meal provided by The Spitting Pig Hertfordshire. The meal was followed by some heartwarming and side splitting speeches from family and friends, it was wonderful to watch some very beautiful moments unfold in front of our eyes and document these for two very special people.
As the evening drew closer the Bride and Groom lead their guests in a short walk through the village into the local park to begin the party at The Inn on the Park. Some crazy dance moves were being busted and this lot even pulled out the “Oops up side your head”!!
This wedding had it all… we loved being part of your day and we would like to thank Corrina, Chris and their awesome family & friends for welcoming us into the most important day of their lives xx
